The Watershed Treatment Programs - Lies and deception
The Watershed will go to any lengths to cover up the drug use and ill-treatment of their patients. They willget addicts to the program and keep them there at any cost. They will discredit the patience to their families or anybody else. They are full of lies and deception on top of more lies and deception. Those pictures are of their real PHP and IOP "aftercare programs".

That place is deceptive and deplorable. Everything said to me on the phone was a LIE. They overdosed me on so many psych meds i became a paranoid mess and stopped talking.my roomate was unable to take care of herself and just rocked back and forth talking abou voices. This is LONG after she was detoxed. My friend got in an argument with his therapist when he started burning himself and couldnt function after being on so any pills. I was on 8 meds, came home crashed and had a total nervos breakdown and attempted suicide. When i was rushed to the er the doctors were shocked at the amount and heavy doses of medication i was on. Literally they asked qho prescribe this "cocktail for disaster".. One doctor said hed never seen such a high level of and combination of medication of antidepressants and anti psychoics. I primise you leave in WOSE shape and be left to pick up the pieces.

Joint Commission may find detox documentation & intake paperwork interesting

Loved one there, was clean upon entry to the facility as evidenced by negative tox screen and breathalyzer. This person was heavily sedated for the entire first week to "detox". This person had already detoxed at home (I know not safe). In an acute care setting the CIWA (Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment for Alcohol) protocol is used to assist in safe management of withdrawal symptoms. The patient is safely managed with medication based on assessments which results in the safe taper from both the alcohol and the treatment drug. Keeping someone "snowed" is dangerous, these people may already have impaired (either acute or chronic) liver or kidney function which could allow the sedatives to accumulate to unsafe levels. It is very concerning to think that patients are being sedated to such an extent. They could aspirate, their respiratory rate and O2 saturation could decrease to unsafe levels, they could become hypercapnic or possibly bradycardic, additionally they are at risk for developing a DVT from immobility....that is just a couple of things that could happen. After reading the comments on this site, I am concerned that my loved one will not get the treatment that was promised. They went there for a 30 day inpatient program of which a quarter of that time they were snowed. This was a voluntary admission...it will be interesting to see if we experience the push to the apartments...like so many have already shared. Given the type of activities being reported at that place, if my loved one is forced there, I will call the authorities and let them know about the drug activity happening at the apartments. As of now, I am not happy with the "one-size fits all" detox week....but I will reserve judgement until we see what the plan of care is. Additionally, and this is IMPORTANT, you can not be held to consents/authorizations that you sign while you are impaired....either of your own choosing or a drug being administered to you.....if I find out that they have "dipped" into bank accounts or charged credit cards during this period, which would be unauthorized, I will pursue this vigorously.

The Watershed Treatment Programs - Addiction Treatment Review

Do not go to Houston! I was lied to constantly! I was told " you will be on an Attivan drip"! That's ridiculous! Did not know there were Dr.s on site. Never seen them. Did not know I was going to be stripped searched. I can understand being checked......But I was humiliated! The minute I was checked in I was put on detox. You are not allowed to do anything because you are in detox. Understandable. But they sure want you to sign your insurance even tho "you are in detox"! I can't even give one star not even 1/2 a star. I must say that place is *** on Earth!!!

You can get sober anywhere. Just don't get lied to. Ask the smart questions: -Why don't I have to pay my deductible? (Or do u make me sign a payment plan on my second day- btw u don't have to sign it) -Do I have to pay for my travel? (Or do I sign a payment plan on my second day- btw u don't have to sign it) -Who ranks the watershed as a top 5 treatment center in the country? (Btw- no such rank) -why does a tech call my family on day 2 when my family was told no one will call asking for money? (After this call, don't answer the phone, u don't have to pay and they won't kick ur kid out) -My family already paid but everyone on my floor says they didn't (Cancel payment if a check- or pay w Amex and dispute ur charges) Are u court ordered to treatment or need to complete a program to go back to work? - seek treatment elsewhere or self pay, otherwise u are there until your insurance no longer pays- otherwise no completion letter unless u go into denial) -how many of your call center staff have died in the last 3 years bc you don't do random drug tests and did managers know they were using? - is my loved one searched or strip searched upon admit? - why is it that drugs constantly make it to the floors? - why do you only have 4 doses of naltrexone at php for a clientele of over 40 (and more)- especially as seeing how 90% of your admitted patients are there for opiates? **how many patients have died as a result in the last year?! - why such a high turnover with staff? - how much, exactly do call center staff make per patient? - what is the average pay of your call center staff? - what is the average pay of your top 5 call center staff? - what percentage of amount collected do your collection techs get as bonus? -why am I calling a number in nj that rings in Florida? - why don't you scholarship patients? (Unless they are family or staff) -why do your staff seem to need treatment (especially admissions staff) -why won't the managers take phone calls? -why can't I get a letter stating I won't owe anything for treatment - since staff tells me I won't have to pay anything? -is it normal to pay for flights , or COBRA or to even purchase an insurance policy for a patient? - why is my loved one whose COBRA was paid prior to going to the watershed now without insurance since they relapsed at php or IOP or halfway? - why is my loved one now without their job bc u did not help them with fmla or - why are they in violation of probation since they came to ur program? - why has my loved one been in the hospital for 3 days after having a seizure without me knowing immediately? - why was my child baker actrd for no reason? - why were the medical records I received falsified on the date of their admission ( off by 48 hours though notarized) -why is my child stating they have been harassed while working for the watershed by their supervisors? - why is it that although many clients pride the program but despise the company (many whom worked there as a former patient) -why hasn't cps contacted the watershed based on complaints of employees whom are current patients (harassment/ abuse/ sexual bullying) -why, given countless, overlapping complaints and prior investigating, haven't equity holders made any changes in management? -how many more clients or employees have to relapse, die, or suffer as a result of egregious and malicious malpractice and mismanagement. people do notice and reputations are indeed earned. Shame on you Watershed- and all of those casting a blind eye while cashing checks -whether they be insurance checks (many fraudulant) or merely paychecks (earned with lies and deceit) Shame on all of you- you give treatment and sobriety a terrible name

We need to make the Watershed pay for how they are taking advantage of the vulnerable and in-turn lining their own pockets. We need to get as many people as we can to make a difference. It is our duty as Americans, former/current addicts, alcoholics or family/friends of those affected to make them accountable for abusing and taking advantage of basic human rights...Basically the point of this is if you've dealt with The Watershed and hate that shitshack scam of place like me than join the TWPolice on fb https://m.facebook.com/groups/125527****522086?view=permalink&id=125636****080068

The Watershed Drug And Alcohol Treatment Center Alcohol Addiction Treatment Review from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

A loved one is currently trapped in this treatment facility and is having a difficult time with getting discharged even though it's what this person wants and what the family wants. If anyone could help me to help get them discharged without having to go awol please let me know. This comment goes for the watershed people reading this as well. Why are you holding someone against their wishes? You cannot force treatment on someone. I know you will say you are not that there are no bars but essentially because you are holding all of their important items such as ID wallets and phone you are forcing it. Someone Please help!!

Positive experience/outcome from The Watershed

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I would like to say that my experience at The Watershed was a very positive one, with a staff that truly is concerned about my well being. I know that my addiction/alcoholism left me in a place where no one wanted anything to do with me. It was shared with me that if I could follow a few simple directions that I too could stay clean/sober one day at a time the rest of my life. I have only been to one treatment center...and after 29 years of doing everything my own way, was shown a few "simple tools" that if I put them in action I would reap the rewards. Anyone can get clean/sober anywhere, under any condition provided they are willing. The Watershed taught me to take full responsibility for my addiction and more importantly to take full responsibility for my recovery. I am involved with activities that the Watershed provides for alumni and I am forever grateful to all the staff for showing me that it is possible and doable to stay clean/sober.

Wasted two years

I worked for the shed for two years as a lead tech and was let go for conducting a search and finding syringes. When you do a thorough search some things get displaced. They terminated me for destruction of property. They pay *** money and after all that time I was never given a yearly review nor offered the 4% raise my co-workers that have been there for longer then me received. I invested a lot of time and energy into that company and a lot of it was off the clock. Didn't even receive an atta a boy. I can assure you this if you ask any patient who has gone through there in the last two years which TEch treated them with respect it would be me I believed in being firm but fair and for the most part the patients loved me. my co-workrs treated TWA as if it was a NAZI death camp yet they could not spot somebody who was high if their life depended on it. Ive received emails to U/A certain clients who were doing the right thing for insurance purposes and was only allotted five U/A cups a night so if I ran out and I knew someone was high oh well guess he got a pass because my phantom boss who showed his face once a month sure as *** would not bring me more cups at 1245 am because I would get yelled at for being in overtime but who cares about the kid stoned out of his mind on Flakka and heroin. Techs were sleeping with patents, tech jimmy was even fired for sexually harassment. Don't go to the watershed it is all about money. With all the money that place makes you would think they would put some back to hirer decent staff and make I a safe environment. But the food is great so if you want a great last meal before you die the watershed is your place.

The Watershed Rehab reviews

Many people are complaining about the Watershed substance abuse treatment center located in delray beach south Florida but the Watershed treatment center reviews and complaints keep getting taken down. Some of them were very long emotional and detailed complaints that people took time to write !

The time has arrived for you to choose a rehab center, and I know the importance of making a decision that is well informed. As you continue to weigh your options, those people who wrote those removed reviews wanted you to know why the Watershed rehab might be the wrong choice for you but they keep taking down the complaints.

Have no clue why I'm even writing this. Was told before I boarded the plane (myself and family) that I'd be helped with my depression.

Of course I wasn't. Instead after 2 weeks - after I'd be placed in EVEN A BETTER facility, that I'd be receiving even better care...instead, was bussed (as a prisoner). With degenerative disc disease, almost fell out of the dilapidated van and into a facility with a cesspool (stinking) behind the, so called, apartments. Night after night, was woke up every 2 hours with guards (with BILLIE sticks) beating on the door and stomping into the apartment...then expected to be ready at 7am to crawl onto a "prison" bus to classes to brain wash everyone to admit their were "drug or alcoholic addicts".

If you said you were there for PTSD, they didn't care at all. I was forced (with DDD) to sit on metal chairs for 10 hours a day and then bussed EVERY night to a NA meeting and was forced to sit on the prison bus until the smokers finished their cigarettes. Next night began the same thing...sleep deprived because the guards knocking down the apartment door every 2 hours.....this was life there. My daughter had to enlist the help of an attorney (even after they were presented my back ailments from my MDs) before I was released.

And don't fall for that "we'll cover the cost of you plane ticket home"!!! Not if you want to go home before they exalt all the money from your insurance that they can. I wasn't an addict, and yes I know everyone says that, but I checked myself in for depression because the MDs here didn't help me...received no help and am convinced that if my daughter and my attorney hadn't had me released, is have been paralyzed today. God help you if you're sucked into this facility.

Believe me...

I'm 65 years old and was exposed to the same horrible scheduled as the 18 years old...which was inhuman for someone at ANY AGE! Don't let your kids be sent there...I've seen it and I'd rather see my child in prison than there.

I just met some people at AA that went to the Watershed when we were talking about our treatment histories.

Best bet is to stay away from this place and like many reviews below said the sale pitch is a lie so if you chose to ignore these reviews and go anyway my recommendation is to download a little phone app to record the sales pitch so when you get to the place and discover the truth maybe you can use the recording to get your money back.

Many of us that finally make it in sobriety have been to so many of these treatment places usually going through one or two like the Watershed with the failed psychiatric label and disable you with "medications" routine. Its sounds good on paper "treat the underlying problem"...

But the disabling treatments are worse than the anxiety , depression or so called bipolar. People that like to drink do drugs and party are not helped by being clobbered with nasty Paxil, Lamictal, Risperdal, Zyprexa and all those so called "non addictive" chemical nightmares. Non addictive does not mean you don't get sick as a dog with all kinds of withdrawal reactions when you quit your lobotomy pills when you get tired of life with no feeling, tired all the time and sexual dysfunctions.

In early recovery people constantly complain that nothing is fun sober so how is smacking people in the head with psychotropic drugs that make them tired and zombie like going to help ??? It doesn't and proof is in the success rates of that method.

Goto Google and search "psychiatry fraud" and do a little reading , most people have no idea how many people are harmed, the marketing fraud and that the psychiatric industry has yet to prove by using medical science that a singe one of their so called disorders is the result of a "broken brain" .

Do the search psychiatry fraud, read the pages watch the videos, I cant explain it all in this short review but I can tell you that information is what lead to my recovery because I stopped falling for the lies and letting them keep me sick.

I want to see more people beat this thing and really the very best thing to do is avoid the entire tangled web of treatment centers and sober houses of Delray beach. If you really want sun and palm trees try southern California not that you will be in the sun and under palm trees locked in the Watershed after your intake strip search anyway.

I was really blown away when I saw some of the postings here with regards to The Watershed Addiction Treatment Programs. My experience has been with an excellent program that delivers the full treatment experience.

Biggest complaint from most was "to many therapeutic groups and classes"...which is of course "the point of coming to a treatment program that offers as much as this one does. On top of all the services that run from sun up to beyond sun down, there are also a WIDE variety of services through their Alumni and Family Outreach.

I've definitely seen those who either were not ready or willing to do the work, leave and end up relapsing...but I've see far more who DID do the next right thing during their treatment experience, (including myself), who are clean and sober to this day, having a quality life AND are continuing to help others. So for anyone reading these negative reviews, just be sure you balance that by reading the experiences of those who were ready and are living a much better life today because of it.

Life clean and sober is AWESOME one day at a time and The Watershed is amazing!

I am happy you recovered but I am guessing this is the only treatment center you have been to and you were in good enough shape when you got there to avoid the psychiatric labels and pill Lobotomy.

I wrote my own review so no sense saying it again but I just want people to know there are much better choices out there.

Its like why spend your or your insurance money to goto "Motel 6" when you can goto an upscale place ?

The Watershed is low class the way they treat people and quickly throw many into the psychiatric wastebasket of labels disabling drugs and calling it "better".

Don't waste your time writing good reviews for this place. It may seem like it but you are not helping people.

I am so happy I found this website. We went through 40 days of torture while our son was at the Watershed.

My son came to me one day and said that he had been abusing Xanax and painkillers for quite some time and that he really needed and wanted help. I had absolutely no idea and I was floored. All those mom instincts were running through me... I just wanted to save my baby!

We jumped on the computer right away and found a few websites of places that we thought could help. Two places were in California, the other was the Watershed. From the minute we got on the phone, the salesmen tried to make us comfortable, pretty much selling the rehab as an all expenses paid vacation on your ins co's dime. They said they were on the beach, five star food/chef, private rooms, etc.

You know what they say, if it sounds too good to be true???? Unfortunately, I wanted to help my baby and was blinded by pain. I told the man on the phone that I needed to talk to my husband and that we would be in touch.

Well, the red flags started and I should have paid attention. The Watershed kept calling and calling asking if I had talked to my husband yet and when my son would be there.

They said they could get him on a flight the next morning. PUMP THE BRAKES! We hadn't even agreed to anything yet! Or talked over finances.

At hearing the financial part, the man on the phone went on to say everything was covered by insurance... but they only had one spot available so we had to decide soon!!! Upon hearing this we told them to just book The flight.

The next morning my son left and I was an emotional wreck. They said that my son would be able to call me anytime, so I anxiously waited for his call when he got there.

When he did call, he sounded SO IMPAIRED! all he said sas that he was tired and going to bed and he'd talk to me tomorrow.

Fast forward almost 2, I haven't heard anything from my Justin. I had been calling and leaving messages for his therapist getting no answers. However, I had gotten 3-4 calls daily asking for my $5000 deductible.

UM NO. They said all expenses were paid? The woman on the phone kept saying that my son would DIE if I didn't pay and he didn't get this treatment. Silly me, I paid.

WHO WANTS TO BE TOLD THEIR CHILD IS GOING TO DIE???? Who wouldn't pay 5k for their chkd to be saved??!

I asked the lady why Justin wasn't calling and she said it was because he probably didn't want to speak to me. LIES. The therapist had been telling my Justin that I didn't want to speak to him, that I was disgusted with him and that he wasn't welcome home.

HE DOESN'T EVEN LIVE WITH ME. I was infuriated and my boy heartbroken. He began telling me stories of all the things that were going on in there - therapists lying, milking families for every dollar - and that it wss nothing like they said on the phone. They pumped him with detox meds he didn't need or want, but was told he couldn't refuse.

The minute I said I wanted him bhome or transferred to another facility, all contact was cut off completely. He was moved to PHP without my knowledge or consent and I didn't find out until one of his friends called and told me. It took a call to the Palm Beach County dept of consumer affairs and an attorney before I even got a call back.

We had to fly down and have him walk off the property to us, then we had to stay in a hotel for a night before he could het his personal belongings from the safe since they make you wait 24 hours. An ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE FOR OUR FAMILY!!!!!!!!

Let's talk about how this kid I know went missing from the Shed and his murdered body was found in a trash can two months later. This just happened in September.

Yeah, they totally watch out for their patients safety... not!

Parents, don't send your kids here. People looking for help, look elsewhere.

Lets face it when someone *** to use drugs and wants to continue in the "drug life style" this is the risk taken. Its dangers are everywhere & anywhere.

Listen to your local news. Drugs kill. Ya cannot blame a treatment center for anyone's personal decisions. Kids die in parents homes too.

Its not the parent fault either. Get real

Everyone please notice that anyone who makes a bad review is autpmatically discredited as still sick and suffering by hose obviously being paid by the watershed to post in here. This is not in fact true. These people are posting there experiences which i know as true since experienced the same and am sober and an active member of aa. The watershed does the same on other review sites to people trying to relay their frustration with this place. I feel that it is in fact sick, but on he sheds part not the disgruntled customers. And i personally.know people that currently and used to work there and its true they only care about money as a whole. Some of he techs dont and are amazing examples of aa but the higher ups and most the therapists just care about u getting to the next phase so they can get more money. Every other program is a flop if yoi ask them and your going to die if you go there is what they tell your family. Please choose any of the other 100 fine facilities in south florida. This one is over priced for less then average care

There are good and bad things. It's true everything they say about keeping your personal effects, lying to you about everything when they call to follow up with you after you call the first time (right Nick and Tom). Trust me they aren't calling you to check up on you if your insurance is not accepted by them. They do call your family in the first few days to set the trap to convince them that the Watershed is the only place for you to be for as long as your insurance pays for it. Detox, PHP and IOP. Each step you take is a little further down in service. They will try to get as much money from your loved ones as they can to ensure that you get the best possible care that your insurance won't cover. PURPLE BANDS - you can NOT make phone calls alone or without your therapist for 7 to 10 days. You can not get your personal belonging for 72 hours after you leave the center. Blue Bands - you have to wait 24 hours for your stuff. it's illegal for you to be without an ID in Florida and yes the pink shirts follow you out of the parking lot and they do call the police to inform them that you left. There is so much more which I will write about soon with the full unemotional opinion. After being home for a few weeks and see all the damage that was done on the business side of my recovery, I'm not likely to recommend The Watershed to anyone it's not worth the cost you pay at the end. They sent me home with promises of getting medication and helping me stay insured until I could make it to a agency that could help me stay on them, but the minute I left treatment I have been on my own with any help from them, even though in order to get paid they have to file my cobra. As of tomorrow I have no choice but to sign a waiver not to allow them pay my cobra so I can go through the state to get back on my meds. BELIEVE EVERY REVIEW HERE. I think you can do worse at a different rehab cente by far, but don't take all the "good" hype and the answer from Watershe Ashling that people are bitter and that is why they leave bad reviews. I didn't have a bad experience or a great one it was just 21 days of rehab it's better than state or free rehabs but for 2000.00 a day billed to my insurance I expect more answers about my treatment and me and my family shouldn't have to fight for answers. Watershed is indeed a puppy mill of rehab centers. Watershed you need to fire Mike at BOCA admin and get someone in there that does the job.

I am not surprised that someone who has no true knowledge of the Watershed as an organization can make such uninformed unilateral statements. How does this person know what work the staff does for those who have limited or no insurance for treatment anywhere or if they are called back?

How does this person know how much care and treatment given is a scholarship? It seems as if this person would give an intoxicated or impaired person their car keys.

The Watershed is successful because they run an Honest program, constantly and effectively trying to improve as any business that cares should.
